Tammy Langhinrichs and Elisabeth Oberleitner

Using textiles as both image and material, Tammy Langhinrichs presents three works that transform traditional cloths through minimal interventions. A pair of stitched eyes is enough to animate the surface of a tablecloth, shifting it from a functional object into an enigmatic presence. Oscillating between humor and the uncanny, the works recast everyday textiles as figures that seem to possess their own agency. Fabric becomes a site where familiarity gives way to ambiguity, and where subtle gestures reshape our perception of the ordinary. Here, textiles function as a medium through which identity is suggested rather than fixed. By disrupting the expected qualities of these everyday fabrics, Langhinrichs foregrounds the act of recognition itself, allowing ordinary materials
to assume new emotional and symbolic resonance.

Tammy Langhinrichs (b. 1995, Hamburg, Germany) lives and works in Salzburg, Austria. She studied Fine Arts at the University of Fine Arts Hamburg (HFBK) in the class of Andreas Slominski. Her work has been presented in solo exhibitions at Elektrohalle Rhomberg and Art Düsseldorf 2024, as well as in group exhibitions including the Salzburger Kunstverein in 2025. Her work is also part of the permanent collection of the Salzburg Museum.

Tammy Langhinrichs' practice positions textiles and fashion as socially and culturally charged materials, translating questions of identity and affiliation into special, embodied woven forms.
